I am considering writing an opinionated and simplified guide for people who want to host their own website and other utilities. Some ideas for what it might include:

This would be a fun project, and would also make me structure some of my own thoughts and opinions on the matter. I think I might write this as a series of blog posts on here, perhaps starting with the subjects that I am most motivated to write about first, and dealing with the boring stuff later (i.e "getting a VM, how to use the command line a little, et cetera).

My overall goal would be to write a fun and actionable guide to modern Linux systems management and development, including how to use SystemD properly (maybe also Dbus?), how to run things with and without Docker (wip, I need to figure out what the best is for myself as well), how to manage your firewall, how to monitor activity so things feel safe, et cetera. Also simple things like how to set up DNS and get your letsencrypt certificates set up. Maybe also something cooler like setting up your own oauth with keycloak and stuff?
